Welcome to Camp Roland

Our Lodge is providing the Camp Guide staff for the Council Camporee, among other responsibilities. Camp Guides will guide camping contingents through the registration process and around the Capitol area to an location where they will meet a camp commissioner who will then have the responsibility to get them to their designated camp site. Camp guides then return to the registration area/OA tent and pick up another contingent to guide; and so on. This is the preliminary plan.

Camp Guides may participate in other OA service events later if they wish. Camp Guides will receive a t-shirt and an OA Centennial Service Corps patch. We need a substantial group of Arrowmen to participate if the Centennial Camporee is going to be a success for our Council. We are looking for 100 Arrowmen, or more,  to serve in this capacity. We need commitments with names, addresses, phone numbers, e-mail addresses and shirt sizes by the end of February.

Get the word out to Arrowmen you know. Make the commitment yourself. Buckskin Council has requested our help. This is an excellent opportunity to showcase our purpose and mission in the Boy Scouts of America. Free shirt, free patch, free opportunity to feel good about yourself and scouting.

Our first chapter meeting will be held on February 20th at Camp Roland, a time will be announced later.  I am asking for at least two youth and two adults from each troop to attend.

If there are any questions, email Nathan White or Pete Gregory.

Yours in Brotherhood,

Message from the Chief:

To all Scoutmasters,

Just so everyone is informed, I am sending out the list of those that are members of the OA from your Troop. If you did not receive it, please let me know. The list is in 93-03 Microsoft Excel format.

Please send the list back highlighting any changes that are made to NAME, ADDRESS, TROOP, PHONE NUMBER, and DATE OF BIRTH. If a person on your list is no longer part of your Troop, please inform me so that the list can be updated and the information can be corrected accordingly. Also if C. Farthing, F. Farthing, or M Geary are in your Troop, please let me know so that I can get their information correct. Charleston sent this list to me on August 4th. I am asking that the list be returned within the next two weeks.

Also I need 5 more youth that are interested in helping with the Fall Call-Out at the Fall Camporee. I need to know who is interested so that I can make sure that they get script and can have regalia ready for the Call-Out. Please let me know as soon as possible.

Yours in Brotherhood  - Nathan White
